Reading Progress: 20190504
I’ve purchased more books on the Kindle bookstore these two months than the last six years.
I think it’s easier when I am reading on whim rather than trying to be something I am not. So I am going to buy and read whatever looks good to me. And while I am a little sheepish to admit, I got most of book list from Reese Witherspoon’s book club. She has great taste in books and very varied.
Sleeping Beauties - Stephen King & Owen King: scary things happen to women and they develop amazing strengths, isn’t it nice when women get to be the ones in charge for once
The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction - Alan Jacobs: a book about reading in the age of social media and news online and emails and messages and everything else.- a bit preachy at times but I like his recommendations of reading on whim
Supermarket -Bobby Hall: It starts off with a scene of murder but it’s about this writer who has an book to research on an joins a deadbeat squad of supermarket workers, I am feeling a bit meh about the narrator’s blasé tone of voice.
