I’ve purchased more books on the Kindle bookstore these two months than the last six years.

I think it’s easier when I am reading on whim rather than trying to be something I am not. So I am going to buy and read whatever looks good to me. And while I am a little sheepish to admit, I got most of book list from Reese Witherspoon’s book club. She has great taste in books and very varied.

• Sleeping Beauties - Stephen King & Owen King: scary things happen to women and they develop amazing strengths, isn’t it nice when women get to be the ones in charge for once

• The Pleasures of Reading in an Age of Distraction - Alan Jacobs: a book about reading in the age of social media and news online and emails and messages and everything else.- a bit preachy at times but I like his recommendations of reading on whim

• Supermarket -Bobby Hall: It starts off with a scene of murder but it’s about this writer who has an book to research on an joins a deadbeat squad of supermarket workers, I am feeling a bit meh about the narrator’s blasé tone of voice.
